With Lovie just about to turn one year old, toddlerhood is staring us in the face. Having a toddler means that we need to baby-proof the house. You know, get the outlets covered, lock the cupboards, get the cords to the blinds moved out of her reach - that sort of thing. When you really start to look at everything that needs to be made safer for your baby, you'll have quite the shopping list in front of you. And of course, it's different for every home and every family. That's where a store like KidSafe, Inc. comes in - if it will make your home safer, it's pretty likely that this awesome store will have it!

We tried finding the baby gate I wanted locally. That came to an end as fast as it started! I wanted a retractable gate. They're lower profile, super easy to use, and can sometimes accommodate more difficult-to-fit doorways. Well, I had no luck finding one anywhere in our city! So, I headed online, and that's where I encountered KidSafe.
As I perused the site, I was really impressed by the wide variety of safety products that they offer. Rather than trying to make stops at three or four local stores to get all of the baby-proofing items we needed, it was so much easier to find them all at one site! Looking at their different categories also brought a few safety hazards to my attention that we hadn't even thought of yet.

When I received the retractable gate, I was happily surprised to see that they'd also sent a Portable Shower Arm Grip, too. I have to say that I've used that as much as the gate! For less than ten bucks, this is a really great product! We were planning to get one of the expensive shower head set-ups with the tracks that allow the shower head to slide up and down to different heights. This wonderful surprise kept us from having to make any modifications at all. And even better, it's about the size of my fist, so I can toss it in our bag when we travel, too.
KidSafe not only offers products, but information, too. Read articles on everything from an intro to baby-proofing to tips for making the places you travel to safe for your child. You'll also find product demonstration videos, as well. It's a really comprehensive site with a great combination of information and products to help keep our little ones safe. Just starting to baby-proof? Need a refresher? Check out KidSafe (if you go there and really love their site, feel free to let me know, too! =).

Just got the cabinet locks this weekend - need to install them. Had to have a carpenter come out and build a box to attach to the wrought iron so we could have a gate mounted properly at the top of our stairs. I really like that shower head mount though - could see where that would be usefull. :)
BABY PROOF TV GUARD LOL - the amount of baby hand prints hanging out on my tv right now is just incredible!!! :)
