The MMH Great Cloth Diapering Event, brought to you by New Baby ProductsThe next best thing after discovering cloth diapers has definitely been discovering cloth wipes! And Small Wonders Wipes makes the best cloth wipes I've found, they're fantastic!

First, a quick diversion from the fluff:
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that either a very bad cold or H1N1 invaded our house last week. It was (luckily) Lovie's first real cold, and thus also her first really runny/stuffy/gooey nose. We all know how delicate baby skin is, so I was really cautious about using even the softest paper tissues...luckily, I had a big stash of Small Wonders Wipes on hand!
The velour on these super-soft wipes saved little Lovie's poor nose this week, no doubt. It was still starting to get raw by day seven, but it was so much better off than it would've been without the fluffy wipes. I am so grateful that we had them for this review!
Of course, these are made to be cloth diaper wipes. The first thing I look for in a cloth wipe is the likelihood that my fingers are going to get wet or poopy through the wipe (because that's just gross and it kind of defeats the purpose!). There are definitely wipes out there that don't pass that test, too, believe me!
Small Wonders Wipes are the thickest wipes I've found, by far. They're well-made (I have yet to have these roll up in the dryer) and high-quality. And they're made by a WAHM - I love to support mom-run businesses! Small Wonders is definitely worth supporting, too.
These wipes are just great. Beyond working as wipes and tissues, some of the fabric combos are even thick enough to act as an emergency diaper doubler! Once we're out of the baby stage here, I expect that I'll still hang on to these for when cold season comes around. If I ever replace them, they'll still make great cleaning rags, too.
Using these has made a big impact on the paper products we consume. No more disposable wipes and many less tissues equals one very eco-friendly product. This is such an easy way to go green!
I have to admit that the first thing that attracted me to these was the cute fabrics. They're adorable! I love the bright colors and the variety of flannel patterns in these wipes. We tried all the combos offered at Small Wonders, and I have nothing but good things to say about all of them!
I like the sherpa/velour or flannel/velour to use for boogie wipes (this way, it's easy to see which side is for boogie wiping and which side is for your hand!). The flannel/flannel ones are great for packing and taking places, since they're a bit thinner than the sherpa/velour varieties. There are also flannel/sherpa wipes that area great for tougher messes. Or course, the velour/velour is the softest variety. Any of the wipes with sherpa are great at "grabbing" lots of mess, too.
These are work-horse wipes, no matter which fabric combo you get. I've washed mine at least a dozen times and they're wearing wonderfully. They come out of the dryer flat and I just have to pile them up, there's no picking and pulling them apart or anything like that. The fabrics are good quality, too, I've had very little fading or pilling.
I'm also a big fan of the travel-size wipes. These are great to stuff in a pocket and have easy access to! And they fold up to be quite small (smaller than any plastic wipes case) for the diaper bag, too.
If you're wondering about the whole wet/dry issue, never fear. Cloth wipes can be used wet or dry, however you prefer them. You can even fold them so that they'll work in a plastic pop-up wipes container (like the ones disposable wipes come in). You can store them in one of those containers in a wet wipes solution, or use a spray and a dry wipe. I like the spray/dry wipe combo - it requires no prep work and I only have to use the spray when I really need it.
And one of the best parts? For what ONE bulk box of wipes costs, you can have an entire stash of Small Wonders Wipes! These are a must-have for all parents, not just those of us who cloth diaper. They range from 36 cents to just over a dollar per wipe...how awesome is that?! For $20, you could have a great stash going! =D
