The MMH Great Cloth Diapering Event, brought to you by New Baby ProductsBrand: Thirsties (www.thirstiesbaby.com)
Product Reviewed: Duo Wrap diaper cover
Type: adjustable-rise diaper cover in two sizes
Closure: hook & loop waist with snaps for adjusting rise
Cost: $12.75
Adjustability: leg elastic is fixed; rise has 3 rows of snaps for adjusting
Size Range: two sizes: Size 1, 6-18 pounds/0-9 months; Size 2, 18-40 pounds/9-36+ months
Materials: PUL (polyester w/ urethane laminate)
Quality: Elastics have held up great! (Which is good, because the Thirsties signature leg gussets are an integral part of why these covers are so good!) PUL is on the thin side, which has led to some stretching and thinning around the snaps. So, you really have to be careful when you're unsnapping the rise. The hook & loop closure has held up well and the laundry tabs hold together through washings. Overall, I like that the PUL is very breathable, and you just need to be mindful of how you handle the snaps.
Laundry Tabs: yes, and they work! I haven't had these come un-done in any of the many,

many times I've washed them.
Laundering: since this is just a cover, it's pretty straightforward - wash, hang to dry. details here. If you'd like, these covers can be wiped dry and used again to reduce how often they need to be changed (though I've not done this, I like to use a fresh one with each diaper change).
Inserts: The Duo Wrap will accept everything from a Thirsties Fab Fitted to a plain old prefold. I like the Fab Fitteds with them best - go figure!
Fit: This is one of the best fitting covers out there. The PUL is supple enough to move with whatever it's covering (some thicker PUL just isn't adaptable enough to use with some fitteds). The gussets are fantastic - zero leaks thus far, other than user error (ahem, @Dad_o!). At just shy of 18 pounds, Lovie wears her Duo Wraps with one level of the rise snapped down and the waist tabs overlapping (in the Size 2) - so the Size 2 has a generous fit.
Trim Factor: These will be as trim as whatever you're putting them over.
Performance: Like I mentioned, there were a couple Dad-related user errors that led to leaks. Because there are two steps to this - whatever you're using under the cover, then adding the cover, it's a little more tricky than one-step diapers. For those with extra squirmy babies, it could be a little tricky to make sure that the cover is lined up properly, so that none of the absorbent stuff is exposed. Great cover for long/thin babies, too!
Dad-Factor: Between this having snaps for the rise and being a two-step system, it's a little tricky for novices. That said, once you've figured out what rise setting to use, it's pretty straightforward to do!
Overall: The Duo Wrap is a fantastic cover! It's a perfect match with the Thirsties Fab Fitted, but I've put it over a variety of other fitteds & prefolds, and it's always perfomed great. And for the price/value - this is a great buy! I also really love the bright, fun colors they come in.
