Sweet Curvy Shower Rod (a guest post by @Dad_o)

Our bathroom is ridiculous.

It’s about three feet wide, fifteen feet long, and feels generally crowded no matter what you’re trying to do in there. It's more like a hallway that happens to have a double sink and toilet on one side, and a shower on the other.

So as we start doing remodeling work in there, anything that makes the space more livable is a good thing. That’s where our Moen curved shower rod comes in. When Amy asked me to install this thing (piece of cake, by the way), I didn’t quite get the point. It was nice looking, but other than that, I wasn’t blown away.

That is, until I actually used the thing.

Full disclosure: I’m a shower freak. I LOVE a hot shower. So although I am going to tell you that I absolutely love this shower curtain rod, your experience may vary. For some, it’ll just be a handy piece of hardware. For me, it’s another great reason not to kill yourself first thing in the morning…right up there with hot coffee and Egg McMuffins.

So anyway, in case it isn’t obvious to you (it wasn’t to me), the curved rod gives you some extra breathing room in the shower. That means that while you’re moving around in there, you suddenly have some extra elbow room between your warm, soapy butt and the cold, slimy shower curtain. It still keeps the water off the floor and the steam in the shower, you just get the added benefit of a little whirly-bird space (a technical term referencing a comforting personal area where you could, if so inclined, spin around in circles).

And all that aside, the thing looks a whole lot better than the usual springy shower curtain rods that you see in bathrooms. Ours is chrome and it is nice and substantial, so I’m pretty much considering it the crown jewel of the bathroom and aspiring to have all of our other hardware look as good as we continue with the remodel.

I’m a big fan. With a curvy shower rod, you basically get a bigger shower without actually having to get a bigger shower. I think you’ll appreciate that even if you’re bathroom isn’t three feet wide.

this post made me smile this morning. we have a ridiculously small bathroom too, and it's in the process of being remodeled by my hubby in his spare time, so we've been without a shower for 3 weeks! (Thank God for the gym!)

Anyway, last night Hubby came home with the coolest shower rod ever (i never knew i could appreciate a piece of hardware so much). It's curvy AND it's a double rod, so the liner curtain goes on a separate one than the main curtain. it'll probably be the fanciest thing in our new bathroom and i can't wait to see it!

When we had our bathroom redone (bathfitters) we selected the curved shower curtain rod - makes things *SOOOOO* much nicer in that shower. (course it's the guest shower but oh well. :) )

We also put in a Y valve and a double shower head :) one massaging and one "rain" style - my mother is in heaven when she comes to visit.:)

I've always thought these shower rods were wonderful when I have used a shower with one in a hotel. Amazing what a little update in a bathroom can do for one's morale!

When we went to San Francisco and stayed at the Hotel Adagio in August they had one of these curved shower rods in our bathroom. I LOVED it! You wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it truly does.
