Congrats, ladies! I've contacted most of you by email (if I could find an email address for you) and also by Twitter. You have 36 hours to get back to me and claim your prizes... =)
Thanks again to Nummies Bras for this awesome giveaway! Enjoy your bras, ladies. =D
I was organizing the closet the other day and it suddenly occurred to me that I own a ton of shoes. Not sure how that happened, but my footwear collection is probably a little more robust than that of a lot of guys. Apparently that makes me the man for the job when it comes to writing about kid shoes.
Turns out that the reason is straightens out the little hitch in her giddy-up is something called Sensory Motion Technology, which encourages good posture and proper walking. That should be good for little ones just getting up to speed as well as older kids that are starting to play sports and climb on things and all that good stuff.

If you've been following along (hey, you should be!), you know that we went green with Lovie's birthday party this year. I was quite happy to incorporate some Marcal Small Steps products into the mix around our house, including at her birthday bash. =)
For Lovie's big first birthday party, I decided to go green. Or rather, "conveniently green" - my term for the level of eco-friendly that I usually achieve. If it's reasonably convenient to go with an eco-friendly alternative, I prefer to. First thing's first: e-vites! Compliments of Pingg.com.
The good thing about breastfeeding is that the poo really doesn't smell too bad. The bad thing is that eventually, they start eating solids, and that poo does really stink. So to that end, we've tried a few diaper disposal systems. Right now, we're using the Diaper Dekor, which is great for stank control!

Since I just blogged about baby skincare, it's probably a great time to talk about skincare for moms (and dads!). Juice Beauty offers a really unique line of all-organic skincare products made from juice concentrates.

Every time my parents see their granddaughter riding in her very sleek Micralite Toro, they can’t help but point out that when they were raising kids, a trusty old $20 umbrella stroller did the trick just fine.
I’m sure it did. But hey, times have changed.
And any time I have to steer Babe-O through a subway turnstile, jump a high curb, or navigate a crowd, I’m glad to be driving the Cadillac of strollers (or BMW, if you prefer). It’s got spinny front wheels that can be swapped for big fat ones on rough terrain. There are also some very decent shock absorbers that keep your little one (or laptop, or whatever) from bouncing around too much, either because you’re running over people’s feet at the store or just doing a bit of light off-roading with the stroller.
Aside from being maneuverable and comfy, the Micralite folds up small enough to make me feel silly about buying a seven passenger vehicle to accommodate an eight pound baby. It also does a nice little trick where it stands up straight and stays out of the way when it’s folded up. I like that.
As for things that Babe-O likes about her sweet ride, number one is probably the seat. It is super-comfortable for her and slides up and down, from upright see-stuff mode to a reclined, nap-worthy position. When we were in D.C. she took most of her naps in there. She would nod off upright and we’d just adjust the seat to cozy her up once she was asleep.
One thing to watch out for: folding/unfolding can be tricky. Monkeys and footballs came to mind when I first tried to unfold the thing, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a piece of cake. Just make sure to do a dry run or two before trying to operate the Mircralite under pressure with a baby in one hand.
Bottom line? If you’re considering a high-endish stroller, check this one out.
I'm one of those moms that likes to go green when I can and minimize Lovie's exposure to nasty chemichals. If we can go organic, we do. I figure it's like this: yes, it costs more, but if we skip out on eating fast food garbage once or twice a month, the money side evens out pretty well (and we're that much healthier). I do the same with her bath products. So, I'm thrilled to tell you about Sweet Knee!
